Candy Lee (Cain) Aeschliman 1955 – 2004

Candy was a founding member of The Artisans Guild of the Eastern Shore of Virginia. As a woman who devoted her entire life to supporting creativity, Candy Aeschliman provided the impetus to create the original Artisan’s Guild Scholarship, which was established before her death on June 26, 2004. The Candy Aeschliman Fund for the Arts expands on the original scholarship program and bears Candy’s name to honor her broad contributions as an artisan, musician and mentor. The mission of the Fund is to actively support and promote the original goal of encouraging creativity within the entire Eastern Shore community. A committee has been established by the Guild with a goal of raising $25,000 for the Fund during the next year. To date we have raised over $10,000. These funds represent memorial donations and the pre-existing scholarship fund. The Guild Board of Directors will seek out programs, initiatives, new ideas and on-going programs which could use a helping hand financially. Applicants for funding will be encouraged to propose ideas for projects in the visual, performing or any other arts activity which develops personal creativity.
